New play and sport for Dartington

We have some great news- we have been successful in securing £52,000 from The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Pocket Parks Fund and South Hams District Council to complete Phase One of Meadowbrook Playground upgrade! This means new swings, removal of the broken splash pool, installation of a petanque court, table tennis table and repairs to the existing slide. The upgrade will hopefully happen in time for summer holidays.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful partners that supported us in our application, particularly Dartington Primary School Council who helped shape the plans. The upgrades will mean the park will have to close for up to 3 weeks from 3rd to 21st June, all done and ready to go ahead of the summer holidays.

“We’re thrilled to have been successful in our grant bid to revive our much loved play area. This is the first step to put in more exciting, inclusive play equipment for everyone to enjoy. It’s taken a while but we are finally making a start – well done and thanks to all involved.” Mandy Burton, Chair DRA

Thanks again for your support,

Bex House, Play Park Project, DRA
